Frameworks Community Development Corporation, Inc. (Frameworks CDC) is a nonprofit community development corporation serving low-to-moderate income individuals and families in Austin, Texas. Frameworks CDC helps families who are seeking affordable housing and affordable loan products. We help families in the Greater Austin area qualify and locate affordable housing and mortgage loans with flexible guidelines and that are low-cost. Frameworks CDC has partnered with numerous lenders, developers (both non-profit and for-profit), builders and other key players in the community to make homeownership a reality for Austin and Central Texas families.
Frameworks CDC has made the dream of homeownership a reality for many families through homeownership education and counseling and by partnering with banks to provide low-cost, low-interest mortgage loans. Frameworks CDC Overall Community Impact
Frameworks CDC has counseled and educated 750 families since June, 2005 with the following outcomes:
Over 500 families are now homeowners.
420 of the families are first time homeowners.
Ninety-eight percent of the families have low-to-moderate incomes.
The average purchase price for a home was approximately $122,955
Each of the families who are now homeowners will accumulate an average of $62,807 in home equity in one decade of homeownership.
Over $1.1 million of local tax revenues generated per year.
Banks have invested over $40.7 million in families through affordable mortgage lending.
Futhermore, Frameworks CDC has helped many families retain their home through foreclosure prevention services.
Frameworks CDC Goals For 2008
Expand its pre-purchase homebuyer education and counseling program to serve 400 families with at least 300 families becoming homeowners.
Expand its financial literacy program to offer more classes and reach more families to serve a minimum of 300 individuals.
Expand our loss mitigation/foreclosure prevention program to help families at risk of foreclosure or in a subprime or predatory mortgage loan product focusing on low-to-moderate income families and minorities who are often the target of predatory and subprime lenders.
Implement an Employer-Assisted Housing Program to provider employers with options to provide financial literacy, homebuyer education and homeownership assistance to their employees as a benefit
Partner with additional developers and builders who provide affordable homeownership opportunities in the greater Central Texas area
Provide post-purchase education using the NeighborWorks ‘Keeping the American Dream’ curriculum
Partner with organizations to provide post-purchase education covering topics such as home- improvement, maintenance, investing and other topics vital to furthering wealth-building and home maintenance
Develop partnerships with employers, non-profits and government agencies to further the mission of helping achieve long-term homeownership by providing quality financial literacy and homebuyer education to their constituencies and employees
